The Big Bang Votive - Audioscape is a 30-minute surround sound composition played on a continuous loop. It accompanies Yvette Molina’s 300-panel gallery installation. It incorporates excerpted selections from Molina's interviews (which gather stories of love/delight) alongside a slowly evolving soundtrack of composed music, found sound, and field recordings. Four channels of audio placed through the gallery allows the music to move through the room like a vast cosmos rotating overhead.
Discrete placement of voices within the gallery provide for serendipitous encounters with personal stories of love/delight. The result is a unique audio experience for each visitor based on their journey through the space.
